    I achieved it by practising all different splits at the same time. Every month I notice that I was making progress. Without any warm ups. Just straight trying. Dunno if you can do it in a month. From my own experience this doesn't seem possible. I needed a lot longer. It also drained my energy like crazy.

    Ha, was confused as to why you were teaching opposite of what I’m focused on, but it came down to semantics. Reaching with the hand on the side of the foot supporting is essentially the same, though certainly the different way of looking at it may result in variation of what is assimilated. Cheers, Daniel

    This prompted a ton of neat observations: 1. Footholds for me are either too difficult, or too easy, without much in between. the "swivel room" rule of thumb for the foot is great, because it gives you a precise target to shoot for on bigger footholds. 2. timing inhales/exhales is a big part of rhythm and flow

    Hangboarding without weight is for everybody and should be done by anyone who wants to improve their climbing, regardless of experience. Finger Injuries from hangboarding are nonexistent. Just avoid climbing on intense crimps on boulders after hangboarding.

    Thank you for this video. I have found the way of falling especially in the gym to be way scarier for me. Outside it is what it is, until I started falling in gyms which triggered a mental block outdoors as well as indoors. I try not to climb projects and push the envelope and it has hindered my confidence greatly. Whereas before when I first started climbing outside I just would try whatever my friend that I trusted put me on. Maybe it’s a trust issue as well, But I will practice these. Clipping when slack is out and I’m traversed is my worst fear right now.

    I am a very new climber. at 4.26 he talks about climbing with the toe. This seems impossible to me. I don't know if its because I'm a heavy 98kg guy, but it feels like my toes aren't strong enough to support my body weight. They end up bending upwards and I slip off. Should I just only use routes with big footholds? Or try and strengthen my toes somehow?

    I feel like the real challenge is to keep that flow on the boulders you haven't completed yet and therefore don't know the full beta. Might not be a problem for experienced climbers but it definitely is for me.

    • @dusankollar602
      @dusankollar602 2 месяца назад

      Yea, I do not like this video. You cannot forcefully learn "flow" you will get there eventually. You just need to climb, climb and climb. Enjoy the process and your body/mind will get to the flow naturally. I was thinking to send this video to my newbie friends. They are struggling with basic moves on easy problems. Flow is the last part they should focus on. Good luck, stay safe and happy climbing.

    • @zyxwl2015
      @zyxwl2015 2 месяца назад

      @@dusankollar602 Well "flow" is definitely not the first technique total beginners should focus on, he has a lot of other videos explaining other more important techniques (so to speak) for beginners/intermediates. But at some point it will become important, it helps you to climb more efficiently, and in some cases sending or not is about efficiency, especially in sport climbing. And I don't think it will come to you naturally if you've never paid attention to it, these things (don't over match, try to cross/ step through, use momentum from previous move for transition) need active practice to really learn it & make them second nature

    • @dusankollar602
      @dusankollar602 2 месяца назад

      @@zyxwl2015 Disagree, maybe it is just me and my climbing friends. As you progress as a climber it will get to you naturally because it is more effective and body/mind like effective movement. Similar to evolution in animals. Just do not overthink it and have fun climbing. If you are strong enough and you have technique/confidence you will stop over maching, you will cross/ step through use momentum etc. because it is more energy efficient and your mind/body will remember it.
